TREKKING 4 DAYS 3 NIGHTS
Chiang Mai - Pai - Soppong, in Mae Hong Son province west of
Chiang Mai Highway No.1095 off highway no.107. 270 kms. |
Day 1. At 8:00 a.m. we leave by mini-bus for a 3 hour drive through a beautiful mountainous landscape, to Pai. A celebrated rendezvous for many international travellers from different countries. En route we will be visiting different hilltribes such as the LISU, LAHU, KAREN, SHANESE etc. After lunch, we drive for a further hour to our trekking start point. Then we take a 3 to 3 hours trek across lovely lanscape to a White Karen hill-tribe village. Where we will have dinner and stay overnight. |
Day 2. After breakfast. We will trek along trails for about 3-4 hours across more beautiful landscape and on the way we will visit Red Lahu and Lisu hill-tribe villages. After which we will stop and have lunch at a local restuarant in Soppong village. This village serves as a departure point for the nearby cave and is inhabited by a mixture of SHANESE, LISU, LAHU, and KAREN people ,who continue to wear their traditional beight green and blue pantaloons. Then we travel on foot for about 2 hours to a Red Lahu hill-tribe village. Where we will have dinner and stay overnight. |
Day 3. After breakfast. We trek for 2 to 3 hours to visit a white Karen village. where we go elephant riding in the forest. We then hike to Lod cave where we will have plenty of time to explore the stalagtites, stalagmites and wildlife inside. We have lunch near Lod cave. After lunch we will trek for 3 hours across more lovely landscapes to a Black Lahu hill-tribe village. Where we will have dinner and stay overtnight. If you want to hike further, we can trek to the Shanese village. |
Day 4. After breakfast. We drive by mini-bus to rafting camp in Mae Hong Son for bamboo rafting along the Pai river for 2 hours. (If you want to see and we have time we could visit the Long Neck people who live at a refugee camp,Price not included). Next we visit the temple Wat Doi Kong Mu, set on a mountain 424 meters high to the west of Mae Hong Son. We will also see two chedis built in typical Burmese-style by Governor Singhanard and have lunch in the city. After lunch we will return to Chiang Mai by aircraft. |
