TREKKING 3 DAYS 2 NIGHTS
Chiang Mai to Thaton village Northern route Chiang Mai Highway No.107. 175 kms.
Mae Sai ( Myanmar border ) Golden Triangle in Chiang Rai province .
       Day 1. At 8:00 a.m. we leave by mini-bus for Thaton. After about 30 minutes, we may stop to visit The Chiang Mai Orchid and Butterfly Farm. Alternatively, you may choose to visit Chiang Dao cave, a beautiful stalactite and stalagmite cave, 65 kilometers northwest of Chiang Mai. In addition to being of geological interest, this is also an impressive Burmese-style Buddhist Shrine. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. When we reach Thaton village after about an hour. Afterwards, we take a long-tail boat along the Kok river until we reach a White Karen hill-tribe village.Then we trek for about 2 hours to a Red Lahu hill-tribe village. Where we will have dinner and spend the night.

       Day 2. After breakfast. We leave on foot to a Akha hill-tribe village. Which we will reach after about 2 hours. Then we trek for an hour to a beautiful waterfall where we will swim and relax before taking lunch at the forest reserve. Then we take an hour long elephant ride through the forest to the top of the mountain. Then hike for a further 30 minutes to an Akha village. Where we will have dinner and spend the night.


       Day 3. After breakfast. We walk for 30 minutes to a Shanese village. The Shanese people immigrated to Thailand from Myanmar during WWII. Then we drive to Maesai, the Myanmar border crossing with Thailand. Crossing the border will cost you extra,but you will be able to see a lively Black Market. Back in Thailand, we continue driving to see the "Golden Triangle", the point where Thailand, Myanmar and Laos meet. We will have lunch on the way. We will visit the Opium Museum (entrance fee not included) and Chiang Saen, a beautiful 11th century ruin In the late afternoon we will return to Chiang Mai. Passing through Chiang Rai and on the way we will visit the Hot Spring .
